他曾被老師問及為何書籤上不是慶祝建校周年，而是紀念入讀周年。他告知，當年他們的讀書環境多數同學都清貧，惟貧人才自發奮力讀書，可以成功入讀有名氣學校實在不易難得，所以必定要好好紀錄。

Hello, everyone! Welcome to my alma mater, Queen’s College. Come on! I’ll show you what we have here…. I like Physics because we had fantastic Physics teachers. Good teachers can bring the interest out of you. And I like Biology because in Biology, we had to deal with animals and we had to do little dissections almost like a surgeon. We caught earthworms from the lawn outside there because we had to dissect earthworms, rats and also cockroaches. Those were the fascinating days.
